Satisfying Creation’s groaning

In a recent encounter, I was walking in a beautiful forest. Everything was just vibrant and alive. The trees were iridescent and looked like the leaves were changing colors. I went up to one tree and I felt like it knew I needed to peel off some of its bark to make paper to write on. It was like I asked permission and it said yes. I sat down to write and, as I wrote, the Hebrew letters came off the page and went up to one of animals in the forest and went around it like it was re-sequencing it’s DNA to restore it to it’s original design before the fall. Then I knew I was witnessing Romans 8:21-23, where creation groans for the unveiling of the sons.

…All creation longs for freedom from its slavery to decay and to experience with us the wonderful freedom coming to God’s children. To this day we are aware of the universal agony and groaning of creation, as if it were in the contractions of labor for childbirth. And it’s not just creation. We who have already experienced the firstfruits of the Spirit also inwardly groan as we passionately long to experience our full status as God’s sons and daughters—including our physical bodies being transformed. Amen.
